Yesterday Kyle received his mission call. He is going to South Carolina, and he is going to be arriving at the MTC on July 27th. That means we now have 2 months to get him everything he needs.
We've been preparing for this day for years, but when I saw the envelope in the mail with "Elder Kyle James Olsen" on the front, I was overcome with emotion, not enough to cry, but it really made me realize how fast time goes. In just 2 months our little Kyle, who is now 6'3", will be spending the next 2 years serving our Heavenly Father. The best part, is that he always said he was going to serve a mission. So that made it easier for us.
Last night when he opened his mission call, there were so many friends and family at our house that we had people standing on the porch with the door open. Kyle has such a special spirit to him, there was such an incredible energy and spirit in the room. When he read that he would be serving in South Carolina and entering the MTC on July 27th, everyone in the room started clapping. It was great to have so much support. I know that Kyle felt that support and love and friendship from everyone that was there. I just want to thank all those that have influenced Kyle, so many of you have made him the Young Man that he is today. And I'm feeling like the luckiest mom in the world.
