Test Results........Finally

Why did it take so long to find out about my test? The reason is because I am a slacker. Not about everything, but pretty much I'm a slacker about all things "ME". I am not very good at taking my medicine, so back in May when I was supposed to get my blood test, I had to admit to the doctor that I had not been taking my Synthroid regularly. Those of you on Synthroid probably wonder how I could forget to take such an important medicine....I'm a slacker, no good reason. However, it doesn't help me improve when I call my doctors office and tell them I haven't been taking my medicine, so they load me up on free samples. I'm almost like a child who whines and whines until you give them what they want, except in my case, I don't take my medicine and then my doctor provides me with several months worth of free samples, it makes it difficult to learn.

Anyway, yesterday after taking my medicine faithfully for 2 months, I had my blood test. And today I found out that Everything is good. My Thyroglobulin is not even detectable. Great News!! That means, that my doctor is as fabulous as I thought, he was able to get all the cancer with my last surgery. So I am now back to yearly blood tests, which is a huge relief, since I don't have insurance.

Through this whole experience, I have had so much support. I've had family (of course) and friends, neighbors and even people I don't know offer words of encouragement. One of my friends even went on the "iodine free" diet with me during the holidays when I could only eat vegetables. Friends and Family who put so much time and effort into my fund raiser, and I don't even know how to thank everyone. It's such a relief to know that in times of need I have so many people there to help.

I'm glad your TG came out good! I am one of those who can't understand why you don't take your medicine regularly...silly girl! I am set to do my blood work in October...hopefully my Thyroglobulin test will show no signs of cancer as well.
