It was so good to receive this letter! I can't even describe how I felt when I opened the mailbox and saw it there. I immediately called Bret on the phone, and he listened while I read the letter to him and the girls. Bret was crying, of course, and all the girls were laughing and smiling...we were all beyond excited.
I knew he was going to be fine at the MTC, but I NEEDED to hear it from him. This letter is exactly what I needed. I love my missionary more today than yesterday. He is definitely my favorite missionary in the field (no offense to any other mothers and their missionaries ;)).

That is great! Funny about him working out and gaining 2 pounds at the same time! Maybe he is gaining muscle. :) It is so fun for me to see the little boys I knew growing into righteous men. :)
Kyle sounds like he's happy and really excited to be a missionary! What a great example!
That letter is AWESOME! Hook the boy up with some hangers will ya? And how do you expect him to learn how to make a "proper" bed with that 1970 floating special he's been sleeping on? He sounds SO good. I love it.
It is so great to read his actual letter. Thanks for posting it. I got chills reading it. I can't wait to share it with my family. He'll always be a part of us. (He and Brett were great Home Teachers for us.) I love his enthusiasm for being a missionary. He is such a great example for the younger boys in the Ward!
He is going to be such an amazing missionary! You can tell how excited he is to be out doing the Lord's work and that makes all the difference.
