Hide and Seek

Today Samantha had a wonderful idea to play Hide and Seek. I had just finished making her bed into a fort and she wanted to hide there so she asked me to play. So I counted and she hid, then I went looking for her, and of course she was hiding in the fort....Every time she was in the fort, I tried to explain that a little variety would be nice, but she still thought it was fun to hide in the fort. This went on for probably 15 minutes, Samantha hiding in her fort and me acting surprised to find her there, when finally, it was my turn to hide, this is what happened.

Samantha: counting 1,2,3,4,5,.......here I come

Me: hiding in the pantry. (a few seconds later I hear)

Samantha: you hooooo (in a very high pitched voice)

(then again)

Samantha: you hooooo

(a few seconds after that)

Samantha: you hooooo mom?!

Samantha: (a little louder, with a little panick behind it) MOM?!

Samantha: (now very panicked) MOM!!!!? MOM ARE YOU HERE!!??

She gets a little nervous if she thinks she is alone in the house, so I helped her find me.

I guess I should have hid in her fort.
