About 2 months ago, I went to Wells Fargo and then to Wal-mart, and I noticed this car had followed me from the bank to Wal-mart and he started flashing his lights. When I got into the parking lot I got out to see what the problem was, and he told me I had a flat tire. He asked if he could help me change the tire and then apologized for being in his slippers and pajamas. He was awesome!! I know how to change a tire, but when anyone offers to help, especially with a flat tire, I'm all for it.
Well, today almost the same thing happened!! I went to Wal-Mart and when I parked I could hear a hissing sound and noticed that my tire was flat again!!! No big deal, I was in a crowded parking lot and I knew that someone would be around to help...right? Wrong!! It was so interesting for me to notice, I had several people parking around me, and every single person avoided eye contact...and don't think I wasn't looking at every person who pulled in. I had 2 men walk right by me while I was changing my tire and not one of them offered to help. Now I could take this 2 ways...1)I am so competent at changing a tire that they just assumed I didn't need help, or 2)People can be really stupid. I prefer to think it is #1.
However, as I was finishing tightening the lug nuts, a woman walking past asked if I needed any help. Since I was finished with the tire, I thanked her and told her I was done but that I appreciated her offer. I know that Chivalry is NOT dead, because I have a wonderful husband who has pulled over numerous times to help change tires, and he is a Gentleman. But it was just something that I had to get off my chest.
So to all you women who do not know how to change a tire, learn, you might have to do it yourself one day.

Wow. That's amazing that no one offered to help you. It sure makes me grateful for Brady. Like Bret, he is a gentleman. What's the deal to you and your tires?
Anyone who just walks by without offering to help is rude. It doesn't matter if you do know how to change a tire, it is still polite to at least ask.
That's ridiculous! That was also very kind of that man to help you out-especially in his jammies! I'm always so impressed with your tire changing abilities-I know I could do it if I had to, but I've never had to so there is a small amount of doubt in my mind.
